Nintendo NX Officially Unveiled, now named Nintendo Switch

October 21, 2016

True to their word, Nintendo have released a preview trailer that has officially revealed the Nintendo NX, or as it’s now known, the Nintendo Switch.

Many points that have been rumoured in the past were confirmed, including the tablet style screen with detachable controllers, kickstand, split-screen multiplayer on the single unit and a dock to hook up to a TV with a conventional controller. The trailer also showed off a variety of games, including Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a new 3D Mario, an NBA game, Mario Kart and Splatoon. The latter two looking to be ports of their WiiU counterparts.

All round, the marketing looks for the Nintendo Switch looks significantly slicker than the WiiU and 3DS ever had and it looks to have a gimmick that is easy to present and understand for gamers and non-gamers alike.

The Nintendo Switch is still scheduled to release in March 2017. Expect further details in the future.
