Nintendo announces Super Mario Maker for 3DS

September 2, 2016

At its latest Nintendo Direct event, Nintendo has announced a 3DS version of Super Mario Maker, the game that allows players to create their own Mario levels.

The 3DS version has almost all of the features of the Wii U version, however it doesn’t support the ability to upload levels online, only allowing them to be shared via StreetPass and local wireless instead. Oddly enough players can still download courses created in the Wii U version. Partial courses can also be shared, allowed for friends and family to team up for their creations. The Mystery Mushroom item is also not included, which remains a Wii U exclusive item.

Super Mario Maker 3DS will launch this year on December 3rd in Australia.
