A new trailer has been released for the Assassin’s Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men, Macbeth, 12 Years a Slave) and Marion Cotillard (Inception, La Vie en Rose, The Dark Knight Rises, Macbeth), directed by Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, The Turning, Macbeth).

The trailer shows off the new animus, and explains the main character and his bloodline. The Assassin’s Creed movie is set in 15th century Spain during the Spanish Inquisition, and there will not be a game tie-in, however the Assassin’s Creed movie is set in the same universe as the video game series.

Rumour has it the next Assassin’s Creed game will be set in ancient Egypt, and release around this time next year. Expect to hear more from us about it soon.

As mentioned, the two main stars and director have all worked on Macbeth together, so we are expecting to see some great chemistry on-screen.
