New BioWare IP slated for 2018

At a recent EA conference call for investors, CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that BioWare is developing a brand new IP.

Slated for a release by the end of March 2018, the game is said to be an action-adventure title set in a unique universe with new characters and stories, and will bring “friends together to play in exhilarating new ways”. On their official blog, BioWare made the following statement:

There’s much more to say in the coming months, but for now, I wanted to offer this additional background.

In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay. Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends.

There’s nothing quite as exciting as building a new IP from scratch, and it will be even more thrilling for us to share more with you in the future.

With Mass Effect: Andromeda due out in March, we’re guessing it will be a few months until we hear more information – perhaps an E3 2017 reveal? Stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw as more information becomes available.
