It wouldn’t be the spooky season of October without some new horror games releasing right in the middle of the of it. This that includes masters of horror Frictional Games, who are returning to the IP that put them on the map: Amnesia. Amnesia: Rebirth is that new entry, with Frictional Games promising a suitably horrifying game that will also build a deeper narrative than the original. To support that, they’ve released a new story trailer that also shows off some of the game’s environments.

The trailer is filled with narration that sets the scene for Amnesia: Rebirth in an extremely effective manner, giving you a good, relatively succinct understanding of the events that led to the beginning of the game. You were on a plane that crashed into the desert and the crew has largely been picked off by a creatures that roams the Egyptian-esque environments of the game. Throughout this, plenty of shots of the environments in the game come up, giving a really good glimpse at some of the places you can expect to feel an all consuming dread. There’s some more open and lighter environment than we expected, pointing to some good variety that you can expect to find when you play the game.
