Need For Speed Payback Revealed

June 3, 2017

EA and Ghost Games have lifted the lid on the latest entry into the long running Need for Speed franchise, revealing Need For Speed Payback ahead of EA Play 2017. While you may instantly recognise Payback as a Need For Speed game, Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson believes you’re in for something a bit different from traditional racing games.

Need For Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games,” said Nilsson. “We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need For Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.”

Set in Fortune Valley, Need For Speed Payback has taken some inspiration from the Fast and the Furious series, telling a tale of vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops. You’ll be able to take part in a wide range of activities, including heist missions, high stakes car battles, pursuits and high octane set pieces.

Preorders of Need for Speed Payback come with the Platinum Car Pack, which includes instant access to five highly customised and unique cars in the game at launch, including a Nissan 350Z 2008, Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967, Dodge Charger R/T 1969, Ford F-150 Raptor 2016 and Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016. The game will also have a Deluxe Edition, which will include 3 days of early access to the full game and customization items such as the Deluxe Edition license plate and NOS color, in-game discounts, rep bonuses, the previously detailed Platinum Car Pack and more.

Need for Speed Payback will release on November 10th, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will include a pre-launch 10 hour trial for EA and Origin Access members.
