Need for Speed Underground Teased by Developers

With a little over an hour until the EA Play event kicks off, we’ve just noticed a tweet from the official Need for Speed twitter account where they have the Need for Speed Heat logo flaring with music from the original Need for Speed Underground game.

Criterion Games recently revealed that they were no longer working on updates for Need for Speed Heat, having released its final update which provided cross-play across Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – a first for any Electronic Arts game.

Now with this Need for Speed Underground teaser tweet, we’re expecting big news at EA Play today. Will it be a reboot of the series, a remaster of the original game, or will they chuck a 3 at the end of the title? Get Low with the tweet below:

Whether this means the original soundtrack is making a comeback too remains to be seen, though we do have fond memories of many of the songs, including Lostprophets – Ride and Asian Dub Foundation – Fortress Europe to name a couple.

Stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw throughout the day as we bring you all the latest news from the EA Play event, including all the juicy info you want regarding the next generation of console gaming.
