NBA 2K21 – The City Revealed For PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

November 5, 2020

Next-gen starts in under a week now, and 2K Games has been gradually revealing details on what players can expect from NBA 2K21 on next-gen platforms (For current-gen gamers, check out our review here). Earlier in the week we had the reveal of the new WNBA experiences and modes coming to the game. Now, they’ve revealed another series first coming to NBA 2K21, with the announcement of The City.

In NBA 2K14, the series introduced The Park, an interactive environment where players could complete as a community. Now, with NBA 2K21 on next-gen platforms, that original vision is being expanded on in The City. It’s billed as a massive map multiple times larger than anything seen in the series before, build more as a city as opposed to a neighbourhood. The City comes with multiple new areas and components, such as Rookieville where you’ll start your journey, the Event Center where events will take place and the Gatorade Training Facility, where you can train your MyPlayer.

The changes don’t stop there, with the introduction of quests in The City. Scattered through The City are NPCs that will give you new objectives and quests to complete. Typically you’ll find two types of quests: single player 3v3 games housed in warehouses you’ll be challenged to complete and quests that encourage you to explore and play games within The City itself. Affiliations are also making a return, with the North Side Knights, South City Vipers, Beasts of the East and Western Wildcats being the boroughs you can side with.

NBA 2K21 The City will be available exclusively on next-gen platforms when the game releases on Xbox Series X|S on November 10th and PlayStation 5 on November 12th. For more information, check the official website.
