What would Molydeux?

March 22, 2012

On the weekend of March 30-April 1, The Peter Molydeux Game Jam, aka What Would Molydeux? kicks off around the globe, including Melbourne and Sydney. The 48-hour game jam will attempt to bring to life the ideas of Peter Molydeux, a fake Twitter satire of real-life developer Peter Molyneux.

Molyneux, is, of course, best known for promising more than he can deliver with most of his games, and the fake twitter account plays this up by offering up ridiculously outlandish ideas for games. The idea of bringing these games to life was started by an offhand tweet from Double Fine’s Anna Kipnis, though there has been at least one flash game made based on a Molydeux idea.

If you’re interested in attending, then make sure you get onto the Facebook pages for the Melbourne and Sydney events for more details. Aside from the Australian cities, jams will be happening in places such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Munich and Lisbon.

For a brief selection of the nutty ideas that Molydeux has come up with, check out this article on Kotaku, and for the full Molydeux, follow him on Twitter.
