Minecraft Steve Joins The Battle In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

October 2, 2020

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was already a massive game when it initially released and a full season of character releases has taken it even further. After the success of that first season of content and clamouring from fans for more, the game’s director Sakurai revealed that a second season of content would come out. After releasing Minmin from Arms as the first DLC character of the second season, Nintendo has now revealed that Steve from Minecraft would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

That’s right, Xbox now have two representatives in the game with, with both Banjo-Kazooie and Steve making their way into the game. In all his pixelated glory, Steve will unleash an array of Minecraft themed attacks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, including wielding a pick axe, setting fire to his opponents and maybe even building a mine cart track. There will also be a number of skins/costumes that come along with Steve, allowing players to also play as Alex, a Zombie or an Enderman in the game.

We don’t yet know when Minecraft Steve will rock the block in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but Sakurai will host a new video showing off just what Steve can do at 12:30 AM AEST on October 4th (right before daylight savings kicks in) over at Nintendo’s YouTube Channel.
