During the Nintendo Direct presentation this morning, Nintendo confirmed that Minecraft: Switch Edition will be coming to the Switch on May 12 this year via the eShop. A retail release was also confirmed to be coming later in the year.

The Switch version will be playable in both TV and Table Top modes, and will boast local multiplayer support for up to four players and online multiplayer for up to eight players. The game will come with the exclusive Super Mario Mash-up Pack, allowing players to explore Mario-themed worlds and play as their favourite Mario characters.
