Metroid Prime: Federation Force Unveiled For 3DS

June 17, 2015

Many Nintendo fans were wondering if Metroid would finally make an appearance at E3 this year, and the answer was yes. But perhaps not as they expected it.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a four-player co-op FPS coming to 3DS, that takes place in the Metroid universe. Players and up to three friends can join forces either locally or online, to go on missions and take down enemies. This also marks the first Metroid game where you do not play as Samus (at least as far as we know), instead playing as a seemingly nameless character with a Samus-style battle suit. The game also boasts a more ‘chibi’ art-style, giving the game a much more family-friendly appeal.

Though game was actually shown earlier in the week during the Nintendo World Championships, Nintendo also showed another trailer for Metroid Prime: Blast Ball. It was revealed to be a side mode where two teams of three compete in a game of futuristic battle soccer.

It is currently slated for a 2016 launch.
