April 20, 2018

Melbourne ORDER has become the latest team to join the new esports league, the Gfinity Elite Series Australia, joining other teams Melbourne AVANT and Sydney Chiefs. The Gfinity Elite Series Australia is a new series that spans several games, including CS:GO, Street Fighter V and Rocket League.
The Melbourne ORDER will debut on 2 June in the live arena esports series, in the Gfinity Australia Arena in Moore Park, Sydney. In total, six city-based clubs will be brought together for the event, positioned as the ‘Big Bash League’ of Australian esports.
The Gfinity Elite Series Australia will also provide the first opportunity in the country for a city-based derby, with the Melbourne ORDER and Melbourne AVANT teams becoming more than just rivals, but part of esports history in Australia.
“Australia has a long history of traditional sporting rivalries, and we’re excited to welcome a second Melbourne team bringing our own flavour of derby to the Gfinity Elite Series Australia. Melbourne Order tackling Melbourne Avant are fixtures of the future – every big city needs healthy competition,” said Dominic Remond, Gfinity Esports Australia’s CEO.
“We’re excited to further cement our presence as part of the Melbourne esports community by becoming a representative of Melbourne in the Gfinity Elite Series Australia. It’s a great opportunity to represent our fans locally with some of the biggest names in Australia, and we look forward to the competition” added Jake Tiber, Melbourne ORDER.
