Massive Yakuza 6 Demo Launches in Japan

November 29, 2016

A demo for the upcoming Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is now available to download in the Japanese PlayStation Store. The Yakuza 6 demo download checks in at over 36 GB, and you’ll have to wait until you’ve downloaded at least 12.6 GB before you can start to play it.

If you’re not in the position to be able to download the Yakuza 6 demo, there are plenty of gameplay videos going around. Here’s our pick:

Whilst the Yakuza 6 demo file is quite large, the game is supposed to be absolutely huge, being Sega’s and Toshihiro Nagoshi’s most ambitious project yet. We’re definitely excited to get our hands on a copy once English is made available. If you do happen to download the Yakuza 6 demo, then you do get to enjoy the fact that your save game will carry over to the full game when it launches next month in Japan.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life launches on December 8 in Japan exclusively on PlayStation 4, and does not yet have a western release date. This game is not to be confused with Yakuza 0, which launched in March 2015 in Japan, and is getting a western release on 24 January 2017. Regardless of the fact the games take so long to come out in western countries, they continue to be popular among fans, and the Yakuza 6 demo is definitely one to try out if you have a Japanese PlayStation account.
