Marvel’s Midnight Suns launches October 7, 2022

At Summer Games Fest, 2K and Marvel Entertainment announced the launch date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Firaxis Games’ new tactical RPG that includes characters from the similarly-named ‘Midnight Sons’ group of heroes, along with favourites from the Avengers and X-Men. On October 7, 2022, the game will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC – the Switch version will arrive at an unannounced later date.

A new cinematic trailer showcased at the event showed off several new characters that will be included, including Spider-Man on the side of the heroes, while Venom, Sabretooth, Scarlet Witch and Hulk have been corrupted into Fallen versions of themselves, assisting the villainous Lilith and her Hydra armies.

There’ll be four editions of Midnight Suns released, as per information from 2K ANZ. Interestingly, the standard edition is exclusive to PC and previous-gen consoles, whereas next-gen versions start with the ‘Enhanced Edition’ tier and pricing:

  • The Standard Edition will be available for $99.95 AUD / $109.95 NZD* on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes the base game;
  • The Enhanced Edition will be available for $109.95 AUD / $119.95 NZD* on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It includes a next-gen optimized version of the game for next-gen consoles and five premium cosmetic skins;
  • The Digital+ Edition will be available for $124.95 AUD / $134.95 NZD* on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes 11 premium cosmetic skins. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S SKUs include the next-gen optimized version of the game for next-gen consoles;
  • The Legendary Edition will be available for $149.95 AUD / $159.95 NZD* on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes 23 premium cosmetic skins, as well as access to the post-launch Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass**.
