Marvel’s Avengers Gets Free Upgrade Treatment for Next Generation

CRYSTAL DYNAMICS AND SQUARE ENIX today revealed fans will get a special Marvel’s Avengers free upgrade treatment, as well as announcing the game will be a launch title for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles later this year.

The Marvel’s Avengers free upgrade offer will be available for both consoles, so players that purchase it on Xbox One will get a free upgrade to Xbox Series X while players that purchase it on PlayStation 4 will get it for free on PlayStation 5.

Marvel’s Avengers is due to launch on September 4 on Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, just two months before the next generation of console gaming is set to begin. The next generation consoles promise fast if not instant load times, boosted resolution and fidelity, improved texture and armour destruction, ray tracing, and more.

Also revealed is cross-generational play, meaning just because your friend bought a fancy new PS5 doesn’t mean you can’t still party with him on your PS4!

Marvel’s Avengers details:

Marvel’s Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay*. Assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a new, hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco. The celebration turns deadly when a mysterious enemy causes a catastrophic accident which results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, a sprawling adventure ignites when a determined young woman named Kamala Khan sets out to reassemble and rebuild the Avengers to stop the unchecked power of the secretive new force known as AIM.

Marvel’s Avengers continues the epic journey with new Heroes and new narrative delivered on an ongoing basis, for the definitive Avengers gaming experience.

Rocket Chainsaw has been following the development of Marvel’s Avengers closely, with some early gameplay footage first being revealed in August last year at Gamescom. Marvel’s Avengers launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on September 4, 2020. For more information, check out the official website.
