Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle leaked

May 24, 2017

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has been leaked, thanks to Nintendo World Report.

The game has long been rumoured to be in development since last year, with various sources having mentioned the game was an RPG crossover between the Mario and Rabbids franchise. Over time gameplay details have slowly made their way to the internet, but Nintendo World Report’s leak has provided actual assets. The assets come from an internal Ubisoft presentation, pitching the game’s general marketing strategy and gameplay concepts.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is described as a “crazy combat adventure”, with the game focusing 35% on exploration and 65% turned based combat. Players will be able to control Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi and Yoshi, as well as their Rabbid counterparts. Each character will be armed with an arm cannon-like weapon and will have their own playstyle and personality.

There will be four environments to explore based on “twisted Mario’s world”. Each environment will contain puzzles and hidden secrets, 1 boss/mini-boss and various collectibles and upgrades. During exploration players will control something called Tuttorio instead of the heroes. Local co-op play for two players is also featured.

Ubisoft had planned to reveal the game at this year’s E3 and then launch the title in August. Now that the cat is out of the bag, it’s unclear if these plans will change.
