After a tease last month where Microsoft accidentally added text advising that Lost Odyssey was free if an Avatar t-shirt was downloaded, Major Nelson has now announced that Lost Odyssey is officially available for free until December 31st. This comes as Blue Dragon is made available in the Xbox One backwards compatibility program, with both titles now available digitally, which is sure to excite some gamers.

Previously Microsoft advised that it wasn’t possible to make Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon available digitally as they had run into technical issues due to the games being multi-disc games. Microsoft’s team of engineers working on backwards compatibility have obviously managed to create a fix to these issues, which also opens the door for other multi-disc titles, like Final Fantasy XIII, to potentially come to Backwards Compatibility.
