Lionhead Studios and Press Play to close

Microsoft has announced that Lionhead Studios and Press Play Studios will be closing as part of a corporate restructure.

Lionhead Studios is the famed developer of the Fable series, and Press Play Studios developed Max: The Curse of Brotherhood. Lionhead Studios in particular were working on Fable Legends, a free-to-play co-op action RPG which was originally scheduled for release in 2015. Microsoft has confirmed Fable Legends has been cancelled, and servers for game’s extended closed beta will be shut down over the coming days.

Microsoft has stated they are currently in discussions with employees about the proposed closure.

Rocket Chainsaw would like to wish employees of Lionhead Studios and Press Play Studios the very best for the future.
