Latest PGA TOUR 2K21 Trailer Showcases Game’s TPC Course Creation

July 30, 2020

It’s less than a month until the PGA TOUR game series finally comes back to life. Announced in May, 2K Games and HB Studios have spent the last couple of months showing off new footage and details about the game in the lead up to launch. We’ve seen plenty about the commentary team and many other aspects about the game, but what we haven’t seen too much of are the courses we can expect to play on. That’s changed today, with the latest trailer for PGA TOUR 2K21 showing off one of the game’s courses and the new technology they’re using to create it and the other courses in the game.

Not happy to just roll with standard models, HB Studios has partnered with Terra Imaging to capture and process drone footage of the licensed TPC Courses in the game. From there, with drone footage showing detail down to a centimetre of accuracy and converted to 3D images, HB Studios can then recreate that in-game in PGA TOUR 2K21 to create their TPC courses.

Overall there are 15 PGA TOUR 2K21 licensed TPC courses in the game, including the following:

  • Atlantic Beach Country Club;
  • Copperhead Course;
  • East Lake Golf Club;
  • Quail Hollow Club;
  • Riviera Country Club;
  • TPC Boston;
  • TPC Deere Run;
  • TPC Louisiana;
  • TPC River Highlands;
  • TPC San Antonio;
  • TPC Sawgrass;
  • TPC Scottsdale;
  • TPC Southwind;
  • TPC Summerlin;
  • TPC Twin Cities.

PGA TOUR 2K21 releases for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 21st. For more information, check out the official website.
