October 28, 2016

Variety reports that there is a Klonoa film in production.

The film is based on the Bandai Namco platformer videogame series of the same name. The first Klonoa game was released on the PSone in 1997 in Japan. Since then, one sequel and many spin-off titles have been released, including a remake of the original on the Wii.

The film will be an animated feature and is being produced at animation studio Henshin, with founder Rob Pereyda producing and Hitoshi Ariga writing the script.

Pereyda has previously worked at Bandai Namco as producer for games Bravoman, Mappy and Wonder Momo. Ariga was also once a designer for the Pokemon series.

A release date for the film has not been announced.
