Kingdom Hearts III is coming 29 January 2019

June 11, 2018

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get your keyblades ready for the next instalment of Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts III. At the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour in Los Angeles, and shortly after via Twitter, Square-Enix confirmed the game will be coming on January 29th 2019, so Kingdom Hearts fans, old and new have a New Years/Australia Day present to look forward to!

The news about the release date was followed by another tweet from director Tetsuya Nomura apologising for the delay in release, “I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you.”

Creator Tetsuya Nomura said last year at D23 that he was hoping for the game’s release at some point this year, although it looks like fans won’t have to wait too far into 2019 to get their Kingdom  Hearts fix. In the long awaited third mainline title in the series, Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy journey out on more adventures through the Destiny Islands along with other Disney favourites, including confirmed Big Hero Six, Toy Story, Tangled,  Monsters Inc. and Hercules worlds. Kingdom Hearts III  will be released on PS4 and Xbox One.
