Humpback Pump Track Map Revealed for Splatoon 2 on Switch

April 3, 2017

Nintendo and Squid Research Lab today revealed some screenshots for a new map for the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Splatoon 2. The map, quaintly named “Humpback Pump Track” is an indoor BMX track which will actually include BMX riding. Check out the official description of the map from Squid Research Lab:

It features many curvy ups and downs, and the bike track surrounds a small hill in the middle. You’d think the openness makes for great visibility, but the hump abundance creates a surprising amount of blind spots. Inklings can employ multiple strategies, including frontal breakthroughs or attacking from the side.

Four new screenshots have been revealed, which you can check out in the album below.

After the somewhat surprising level of success of the first Splatoon game, Nintendo fans were ecstatic to see Splatoon 2 announced as a Nintendo Switch title before the console had even launched. Since then, Nintendo held a “Splatoon 2 Global Testfire” event in March which allowed fans to play the game before its release. Fans were only allowed six 1-hour sessions over one weekend though, which as you can imagine left them wanting more.

Nintendo has confirmed Splatoon 2 is scheduled for a Q2/Q3 2017 release and will be playable with up to eight players in 4v4 action.
