Hades physical editions coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles

June 15, 2021

One of last year’s most critically-acclaimed games is getting a physical release on consoles, as Private Division and Supergiant Games have announced Hades is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles on 13 August, 2021 via physical editions.

“We are enormous fans of Supergiant and every game they’ve released, as they are exactly the type of wildly-talented, independent developer we seek to partner with at Private Division,” said Michael Worosz, Executive Vice President and Head of Private Division. “As such, it’s very exciting to help bring Hades to retail, day and date, alongside its digital release on consoles. Hades has already proven its critical merit – and now we are happy to provide an opportunity for PlayStation and Xbox players to get their hands on a stunning boxed copy of this incredible game.”

The retail physical edition comes with bonus goodies as well, including a code redeemable for a digital download of the game’s original soundtrack, and a compendium booklet with artwork from the game. First-run prints of the game will also include metallic foil detailing on the cover.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game feature some technical improvements, including 4K 60fps gameplay, and DualSense vibration and controller lighting on PlayStation 5. The PS4 and Xbox One versions target 1080p at 60fps. In addition, all PS4 versions of Hades, both physical and digital, include a free upgrade to PS5, while the Xbox versions use Smart Delivery, enabling play on both generations of console.
