GTA Online Netted Rockstar a Staggering $700 Million this Financial Year

October 6, 2016

Despite launching three years ago, Grand Theft Auto V continues to be a license to print money for Rockstar Games, with industry analyst Daniel Ahmed estimating that that online portion of the game alone raked in $700 million over the last twelve months.

With the constant support of new content retaining much of the playerbase and the astronomical success of Rockstar’s GTA Shark currency cards, it seems as if there’s little incentive, at least financially, for Rockstar to rush their next title out to release when Grand Theft Auto V continues to be such a lucrative source of income.

Still, is it too much to hope that Rockstar will finally bless us with some lengthy, single-player DLC?
