Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 Content Starts Tomorrow

April 10, 2018

The news is rolling in pretty quickly here, and we can now reveal that Special Operation 1 featuring Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell franchise will be available tomorrow as Ubisoft kicks off the Ghost Recon Wildlands year 2 content.

Unfortunately it appears Sam Fisher will simply be an NPC that you assist on a mission to take out a key figure that he has followed to Bolivia. We still think this could be a precursor for a new Splinter Cell game, to be revealed at this years’ E3 2018.

A new trailer launched by Ubisoft this morning shows gameplay of the new Special Operation 1, and features voice acting from Michael Ironside, the same voice actor that voiced Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell Conviction. The trailer reveals new firearms, a Karambit blade, new night vision goggles, as well as exclusive Splinter Cell equipment including a Splinter Cell costume, Sam Fisher’s unique goggles, and an special Echelon Class for the Ghost War PVP mode.

Ghost Recon Wildlands will also be free to play from April 12 until April 16 across all platforms to celebrate the beginning of its second year of content.

Rocket Chainsaw reviewed Ghost Recon Wildlands at launch, giving it just three stars and calling it a buggy mess, however Ubisoft has given the game a lot of love over the past 12 months and if it were reviewed today it would receive a much better score.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. Head to the official website for more information.
