Fortnite Returns to This Year’s Melbourne Esports Open


The ESL and TEG Live have announced that one of the biggest gaming phenomenon’s in the world, Fortnite, will be back at the Melbourne Esports Open this year, with a range of events and opportunities for fans to interact with their favourite game.

Fortnite-related events will run across the weekend, from 31 August – 1 September, including:

  • The expanded Fortnite Stage in Margaret Court Arena, where fans can watch either live in-person or online.
  • An opportunity to play with content creators including ‘The Misfits’ on stage, with open tournaments running on both show days.
  • Fortnite Free-Play Field outside of Margaret Court Arena, an area within the JB Hi-Fi Game On Zone,  with twenty consoles running the game across the weekend.
  • Fortnite dance competition open to all ages, with prizes up for grabs.

Last year, 12,000 esports fans attended the first Melbourne Esports Open, and the event is looking to expand even further in 2019. Tickets are on sale now at the official website.
