E3 2019: FIFA 20 Release Date, Special Editions & Full Details Revealed

June 9, 2019

The EA Play event was live this morning starting at 2:15AM and we can now reveal the FIFA 20 release date as well as new mode VOLTA Football which is basically FIFA Street rebranded, and will be incorporated into the overall FIFA 20 package.

The FIFA 20 release date is September 27, 2019 and it will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. No news yet as to whether a Switch version will be available, though we don’t see any reason why a simplified version won’t be making its way to the handheld Nintendo console.

VOLTA Football mode will allow full customisation of your character and gameplay, with changes to your clothes and haircuts to fully personalise your appearance. There will be unique celebrations, tattoos, and more which will unlock as you complete challenges in the street mode.

Gameplay modes will include 3v3 Rush with no goalkeeper, 4v4, 4v4 Rush, 5v5 and also a Professional Futsal mode. The arenas will be different sizes, some with walls to bounce the ball off of, and will take place in locations all around the world including Tokyo, London, Amsterdam and more. VOLTA Football will also feature a World mode where players will build up their VOLTA team by playing against community generated squads, VOLTA Story which will provide a singleplayer narrative driven experience (similar to Alex Hunter’s The Journey mode from previous years), and lastly VOLTA League, an online mode where players can advance through the ranks for ultimate glory.
