Fall Guys Is Devolver Digital’s Most Successful Launch Ever

August 11, 2020

Devolver Digital is no stranger to releasing successful indie games, but it seems like Fall Guys launch is unlike anything before in their history. Only a week after launch and with the game also available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers this month, Devolver Digital have revealed that the Mediatonic developed game has already sold over two million copies on Steam.

After spending some time playing Fall Guys during its beta, which I quite enjoyed, and spending more time since (stay tuned for my review later in the week) it’s easy to see why the game’s launch has been successful. Nothing else quite fits the niche that it does, with its Wipeout inspired shenanigans, and its something that you can be engaged with whether you’re watching or playing. It probably makes sense then that Fall Guys has also had over 1.5 million players on PlayStation 4 and 23 million hours of gameplay watched on Twitch since launch.

Mediatonix Co-Founder and Chief Games Officer Paul Croft had the following to say about the game’s success so far:

“It has been overwhelming and humbling to watch the launch and reception of Fall Guys. We’re incredibly grateful to all of our players for their support and have big plans for the game in the future. We’re thrilled by the response and can’t quite believe how beloved our little jelly beans have already become!”

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on PC and PlayStation 4. For more information, check out the official website.
