The Elder Scrolls Online goes Free to Play for a Week

Bethesda has unleashed their popular MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited to allow anyone and everyone who hasn’t tried it to check it out for the week of April 11 – April 17.

New players will also be rewarded 500 crowns for participating in the free week. Crowns are the in-game premium currency used to buy unique items that can not be earnt. Also any progress made during the free week will of course transfer over if you decide to purchase the game, which can be picked up for a pretty decent price these days.

The game is also currently celebrating its three year anniversary, and has an event which includes an item which gives you an XP bonus.

The Elder Scrolls Online launched in 2014 and was originally a subscription based MMORPG, however as subscribers began to dwindle it had its compulsory subscription removed, along with a re-branding and new subtitle “Tamriel Unlimited” back in March 2015, at which point the game’s popularity began to grow again.

With the highly anticipated Morrowind expansion launching just around the corner on June 6, 2017, there has never been a better time to get started in the online world of Tamriel.

The deal is available for all platforms The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is available on: Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

Official details from Bethesda below:

  • The event starts on April 11, 2017 at 10:00 am EDT on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam (PC/Mac) and ends on April 18, 2017, at 10:00 am EDT.
    • Xbox Live Gold membership required to play on Xbox One.
