One of the most surprising announcements at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase was an imminent crossover between Rare’s Sea of Thieves with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Sea of Thieves: A Pirate‘s Life is a free update for Sea of Thieves which launches on 22 June, bringing an original adventure with Pirates of the Caribbean characters, monsters and ships. Confirmed to appear are ghost ships, Davey Jones and his sea monster crew, the Kraken and, the worst pirate we’ve ever heard of, Jack Sparrow. While Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy are not reprising their roles, Kevin McNally does return as Gibbs, Jack Sparrow’s longtime friend and accomplice.
