E3 2017: Spider-Man Swings Into Action In Debut Gameplay Trailer

June 13, 2017

After being announced with a short teaser trailer last year, Spider-Man has once again graced the stage at E3, this time showing a lengthy gameplay demo to show you what you can expect from the game.

Marvel’s Spider-Man looks to continue in the vein of PlayStation 2 classic Spider-Man games, with a dash of Arkham Asylum in there for good measure. Spider-Man has a range of special abilities he can use to stealthily dispatch enemies as he works his way through stages in the game. Once push comes to shove, he’s able to revert to that familiar Arkham-style hand-to-hand combat that is becoming so widespread in the industry. Web swinging is back and seems to be working as well as ever, thanks to the expertise of Insomniac Games at creating interesting and responsive movement mechanics.

The gameplay demo followed Spidey as he saved workers under the employ of William Fisk, the notorious evildoer from Daredevil, while on the hunt for an even greater evil. It included a number of extremely cinematic moments meant to make you feel as powerful as the real Spider-Man, which also means you’ll find a whole of QTEs for good measure.

Spider-Man will arrive exclusively for PlayStation 4 in 2018.
