E3 2017: New God of War trailer with gameplay shown at PlayStation press conference

June 13, 2017

Sony’s huge AAA release of 2018 God of War (or as many are jokingly referring to it as Dad of War) was demonstrated at the E3 PlayStation press conference moments ago in one of the more jaw-dropping moments of the conference.

The five minute trailer titled ‘Be a Dad Warrior’ shows parts of the game that involve both the franchise protagonist Kratos and his son, Atreus. With talking beasts and involving moments of combat, the gameplay was apparently all powered by a regular PlayStation 4, meaning the game will look even better on a PlayStation 4 Pro.

Check out the E3 2017 God of War: Be a Warrior trailer below:

The trailer appears to show the boy, Atreus, being somewhat used in gameplay with his bow which can shoot lightning arrows, as well as assisting Kratos with talking to mythical creatures. It has also previously been confirmed that Atreus will assist you with puzzle solving, traversing the land, and mostly as a distraction for weaker enemies in combat as Kratos clears the area. Chances are Atreus will have godlike powers that become more prevalent towards the end of the game, which is why Kratos has brought him on this journey.

God of War is currently scheduled to launch in early 2018, and hopefully we’ll get a chance to go hands-on with it over the coming days. Check back at Rocket Chainsaw for all the latest on God of War and E3 2017.
