2K Games has announced today via a press release that XCOM 2 will be released on Xbox One and PS4 on September 8, this year.

The game will be available at a SRP of AU$99.95, and those who pre-order will receive a bonus Resistance Warrior Pack. The pack includes additional soldier customisation options such as facial war paint, headgear and outfits, as well as a new XCOM recruit known as the “Survivor of the Old War”.

XCOM 2 is set 20 years after humanity lost the war against an invading alien force. XCOM continues to operate in the shadows, and has plans to strike back and save humanity.
