June 14, 2016

At their E3 press conference today, Microsoft unveiled the first trailer for the highly requested sequel to the original RTS Halo spin-off, Halo Wars 2, along with a ton of exciting details.

The game will see players taking control of the Spirit of Fire army from the original Halo Wars, taking on a brand new threat to the human race. Much like it’s predecessor you will take control of iconic Halo units like Spartans & Warthogs in an all out war.

Like the rest of Microsoft’s first party line-up, Halo Wars 2 is part of the ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’ program, meaning players who purchase the game for Xbox One will also have access to the Windows 10 PC version and vice-versa, complete with cross-play between the two systems and transferable cloud saves and achievements.

The game will be available on February 21st 2017, but for those that can’t wait to try it out, a beta of the game is going live today (June 14th 2016) on Xbox One and will last a whole week, so once your done reading this grab your Xbox controller and get to playing!  (and read some other Rocket Chainsaw articles while you wait for the download to finish)
