The next expansion for Destiny has been unveiled by Bungie and publisher Activision in an official announcement dating the content for release on September 20th.
Rise of Iron will feature The Plaguelands, an all-new area set on Earth, a new Raid for six players titled Felwinter Peak, a new three-player Strike, additional weapons, gear, multiplayer modes and maps, a new enemy faction and much more.
“We have been working hard with our partners at Bungie and are planning great, new content for Destiny’s 30 million registered players. Rise of Iron is the first step in fulfilling that promise,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision. “There’s a ton of content packed in Rise of Iron, including a new location, a new Raid and a new Strike, combined with more quests, weapons, gear, a competitive multiplayer mode and more that we think players are going to love.”
Priced at $AU44.95/ $NZ49.95, those who pre-order the DLC will receive a bonus uniquely themed black and silver Iron Gjallarhorn Exotic rocket launcher. PlayStation 4 players will also gain access to as yet unannounced timed exclusive content.
