00:00 – Satoru Iwata starts us off. We’re in a large boardroom in the Nintendo headquarters in Kyoto.

00:03 – New starters and new game elements. One of the new types is the Fairy type, which will include Jigglypuff and Gardevoir. The game will launch worldwide on October 12th.

00:04: A new game in the Mario series. Super Mario 3D World. Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad are playable, in what looks to be a 4-player co-op title. Various types of games such as kart racing and a very Fez-esque stage.

00:07: Each character has their own unique abilities and personalities “for those familiar with Super Mario Bros. 2“. It can be as cooperative or as competitive as you choose to make it. There is a new powerup too, called Cat Mario. Cat Mario can claw and climb up walls. December 2013 launch.

00:08: A new Mario Kart title, aptly titled Mario Kart 8. Gameplay video shows driving on walls and even upside down – an anti-gravity system. You can now also race underwater and glide through the sky. Motorcycles are back too. It will “offer the best collection of multiplayer modes” the series has seen to date. Spring 2014 launch.

00:11: Wii Party U. You can now use the Gamepad, with some games being controlled by all four players via one Gamepad. Iwata is saying he wants this to be the definitive party game. Delayed from Summer as Nintendo wants to take a bit more time. Due later this year, as will Wii Fit U.

00:13: Art Academy for the Wii U. A natural fit, given the Gamepad. A special version of the tool will be released this year for artists in the Miiverse. Iwata hopes gamers will continue to surprise with their artworks.

00:15: Third-party time. Scheduled to launch this year includes Assassin’s Creed IV, Batman: Arkham Origins, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut, Disney Infinity, Just Dance 2014, Rayman Legends, Scribblenauts Unmasked, on both Wii U and 3DS, Disney’s Planes, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Skylanders Swap Force, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Sonic Lost World and Watch_Dogs.

00:18: Digital downloads coming to Nintendo eShop. Ballpoint Universe, Cloudberry Kingdom, Coaster Crazy Deluxe, DuckTales: Remastered, Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails, Shovel Knight, Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party and A World of Keflings.

00:20: More information about Wii U’s version of Zelda: Wind Waker. That’s two pirate games coming to Wii U. It looks gorgeous, just as you would expect, with visuals at 1080p. Adjustments have been made to the game too, with one key change. The Tingle Tuner, used to connect to the GameBoy Advance, is now obsolete. This has been updated so that you can post a comment on Miiverse to simulate throwing a bottle into the ocean. Release is October this year.

00:24: The Wonderful 101 from Platinum Games. Battle against space invaders. The gameplay video shows off Unite Mode, which allows the characters to join together and turn into giant weapons by drawing on the Gamepad. Up to five-player co-op mode. August 23rd launch date for Europe and will also be available for download on EShop.

00:26: A new Donkey Kong Country game for Wii U! DK climbing up animal necks and swimming underwater. In this game, the island has been overrun by Vikings. Looks slick with HD graphics. One of the biggest advances is the use of different camera angles. Enables new gameplay experiences via use of dynamic scenes. Two-player co-op. Diddy and Dixie Kong are back too. Official title is Tropical Freeze and will launch at the end of the year.

00:31: A new title from Monolith Soft coming to Wii U. Mechs and sci-fi, although we also see some planets with dinosaur-esque creatures. The goal of the game is to give players a large-scale open world that players can explore to their hearts’ content – something inspired by Xenoblade. You can also pilot a mech. No title yet, but will launch in 2014.

00:34: One final game. It’s Smash Bros., of course! Train Link from Spirit Tracks will be a stage. The Villager from Animal Crossing is now playable! Surprise move. Launching in 2014 for 3DS and Wii U.
