You can download Pokemon GO right now in Australia

July 6, 2016

It’s the day wannabe Pokemon trainers around the world have been waiting years (read: their whole lives) for, as today marks the day that the long awaited Pokemon GO app is released to the public. This augmented reality game is now the closest thing we have to living side-by-side in a world of Pokemon – allowing users to encounter wild Pokemon to capture in real world locations. If you’re an Android user just make sure you look further down the list for the app when you search for it in the Google ‘Play Store’, as it oddly wasn’t appearing at the top at time of writing.

Pokemon GO will feature all 151 of the original Pokemon that featured in Red, Blue, and Yellow versions of the game – with later generations of Pokemon to be added over time. Pokemon GO is free to download on Android and iOS devices, featuring some in-app purchases for power-ups, extra items, and other enhancements. The Pokeball-shaped accessory called Pokemon GO Plus will also be available to purchase for the game at a later date and will use Bluetooth wireless technology to allow players to make full use of the Pokemon GO app without having to be staring at their phone screen the whole time as they go about their day.

So what are you waiting for? Download Pokemon GO and embark on a real life Pokemon adventure.

Pokemon GO plus accessory will be available for pruchase at a later date.
