Doom Eternal delayed to March 2020

id Software has announced that Doom Eternal has been delayed and will now launch on 20th March 2020. The game was originally set for release on 22nd November this year on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

“To make sure we’re delivering the best experience – for Doom Eternal to live up to our standards of speed and polish – we’ve made the decision to extend our launch date by a few months to March 20, 2020,” the statement reads.

“We know many fans will be disappointed by this delay, we are confident that Doom Eternal will deliver a gaming experience that is worth the wait.”

id Software has confirmed a few other details concerning Doom Eternal‘s release. Firstly, the game’s Invasion mode, which allows players to enter another person’s game as a demon, will be released as a free post-launch update.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game was originally set to release alongside the other versions but will now launch at a later unconfirmed date.

Doom 64 was announced during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation to be heading to Nintendo Switch on 22nd November. This will now be a pre-order bonus on all platforms and will release alongside Doom Eternal on 20th March 2020.
