Don’t Expect Xbox Series X Hardware Details Next Week

There’s only a week to go until the Xbox Series X Games Showcase and as with any other showcase, we don’t know exactly what we’re going to see, especially when we’re still waiting on details around the hardware. There are some thing that are potentially obvious, along with the confirmation that we’ll get our first look at the Halo Infinite campaign, but Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s General Manager of Games Marketing, has given us the rundown on a couple of things that won’t be shown or discussed.

Chiefly, the show will focus purely on games, so there won’t be any details about the Xbox Series X hardware. This means no further information on tech, but also means no details on the release date, price or the rumoured Lockhart console. We’ll need to wait a while longer before we know when we can get our hands on Xbox Series X hardware, with rumours pointing to August as the likely time to receive a release date and price. Given where the Australian dollar has been at and the current pandemic, as much time as possible with a specific savings goal would probably go a long way.

While we won’t get hardware details, we do know we’ll get a good hour of games form the show, so stay tuned next week for all the details at Rocket Chainsaw or watch the show live on YouTube at 2AM AEST Friday the 24th of July.
