Dirt Rally PS4 VR Arrives

February 20, 2017

Codemasters has today made available for download a Dirt Rally PS4 VR update, allowing players to use their PlayStation VR headset throughout the entirety of Dirt Rally. The update brings a new co-driver mode, allowing a friend to take control of giving the driver directions, using a dualshock 4 controller, the social screen, and of course their voice.

Never before have we witnessed such an immersive rally simulation experience, check out the 1 minute trailer below:

[toggle_box title=”Official DiRT Rally PS4 VR Details:” width=”Width of toggle box”]With full PlayStation VR support across every game mode, the DiRT Rally PlayStation VR upgrade DLC add-on allows you to drive any of the stunning rally, Rallycross and hill climb cars in fully immersive VR.

The PlayStation VR upgrade also adds a new two-player, co-operative ‘Co-Driver Mode’ to the rally sections of the game. This groundbreaking new feature allows a second player to become engrossed in the action as they use the buttons and touchpad on a DUALSHOCK 4 to give the pace note calls to the driver from the social screen. Just like with real life co-driving, timing and accuracy are vital in order for you to complete the stage in the best time possible.[/toggle_box]

For existing owners of DiRT Rally, the standalone DLC add-on can be purchased for $19.45 AUD via the PlayStation store, and Codemasters has also released a DiRT Rally PS4 VR complete bundle on the store for $69.95, a saving of $4.50 off buying the two items individually.

In January, Codemasters announced the next game in the DiRT series, DiRT 4, and we went hands-on with it last week. While DiRT Rally still has plenty of life left in it, DiRT 4 will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on June 9, 2017.
