DIRT 5 Delayed To November

September 7, 2020

With the yearly Forza Motorsport games disappearing for a couple of years and Gran Turismo 7 without a release date, other racing games have had their run of the year for a while now. With the next generation just around the corner, we’ve been keeping an eye on what we can expect as racing fans, with DIRT 5 the one game confirmed for a PS5 and Xbox Series X release. Now, gamers on PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait a little longer, with the game delayed into November.

The announcement was made via the DIRT 5 twitter account, with no reasons provided as to why the game needed to be delayed. At this point, it’s probably an easy assumption that COVID-19 has played some havoc on the development schedule, while this could also be a move to align the release of the game closer to the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. There was no confirmed delay to those versions of the game, with them still slated as ‘late 2020’, while the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions have been delayed to November 6. Additionally, the Stadia version of the game has been delayed to 2021.

DIRT 5 will release on November 6th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with a 3 day early access period for purchasers of the Amplitude Edition. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will release in late 2020, while the game will also release on Stadia in 2021.
