Digimon Survive Revealed and Confirmed for Western Release

Bandai Namco have been on a roll with the Digimon IP in recent times, scoring hits with the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth games and Digimon Adventure Tri anime series. They’re looking to continue that run of form, with a brand new Digimon game coming in 2019 to celebrate the IPs 20th anniversary, Digimon Survive.

Digimon Survive is looking to enter new territory for the series, which has traditionally focused on simulation and standard RPGs on the gaming front, with the game being a combination of a visual novel and strategy RPG. Story content will be delivered in visual novel style conversation, with player choices promising to have a big impact on the game, and combat will take place on a battlefield shown from a somewhat isometric viewpoint. Not many more details are known at this time, but the game will utilise 2D art that is reminiscent of the original Digimon Adventure anime series.

Digimon Survive releases in 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Take a gander at the teaser trailer below while you wait for more information closer to release.
