Devolver Digital Teases New MaxPass+ Announcement

The psychotic minds at Devolver Digital are known for two things nowadays: fantastic indie games and fever dream not-E3 press conferences and announcments. Their splattergore presentations, filled with enough swearing to almost feel out of place in an Australian conversation, have been a highlight of the Winter game announcement season that includes E3. As we get closer to the kick-off for that time of year, it looks like Devolver Digital is getting ready to bring that manic energy once again as begin to tease a possible new ‘Monetisation as a Service’ platform MaxPass+.

Now, with Devolver, there is never a guarantee that they aren’t simply being facetious or sarcastic with a tease like this. Especially when they have Nina Struthers (it took me much too long to realise Nina is character and not an actual employee of Devolver Digital) on camera. With that said, taking the Devolver Digital MaxPass+ Prologue teaser at face value, the company is promise a full reveal at 6:30AM AEST on Sunday June 13th. That is, of course, the time of their previously announced not-E3 press conference that is occurring this weekend.

Alongside the teaser trailer, Devolver Digital also confirmed that they would have five new game reveals at the showcase, with new games from Flying Wild Hog, Galvanix Games and Doinksoft, as well as release date announcements for Phantom Abyss and Death’s Door. So, if you’re looking to get your eyes on some new indie game announcements, make sure to tune in to Twitch Gaming at 6:30AM AEST on Sunday.
