Destiny 2: The Witch Queen expansion detailed at showcase event

If you stayed up to 2AM AEST to watch Destiny 2‘s showcase event, you were probably very excited to see the reveal of the game’s newest expansion, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. Set for a release on February 23 2022, The Witch Queen 

The Witch Queen promises the truth behind the villainous Savathûn’s schemes, as well as a new enemy in the form of baddies who are infused with the Light that the Guardians hold dear, the Lucent Brood, taking place in a new environment called the Throne World. A new weapon crafting feature allows players to forge weapons for the first time, and the Glaive will also be introduced, a first-person melee weapon. New content including a new six-player matchmade activity, a new raid in the heart of a sunken Pyramid ship, and more will also be offered.

A Deluxe Edition of the game is also available to pre-order, which includes the Witch Queen expansion as well as all Year-5 Season Passes, access to two Dungeons released in Year 5, a Throne World Exotic Ghost Shell and a Legendary Emblem, the Enigma Exotic emote, an Exotic Submachine Gun with exotic catalyst and ornament and a Throne World Exotic Sparrow.

In addition, a Deluxe Edition + 30th Anniversary Bundle includes everything above, plus a ‘Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack’, with a new Dungeon, Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher with exotic catalyst and ornament, new weapons inspired by past Bungie worlds, Thorn armor set, Bungie streetwear ornament set, Marathon-themed ornament set, Unique helmet ornament, Exotic Sparrows, Exotic ship, emblems, shaders, emotes and more.

Finally, a Collector’s Edition features digital codes for everything above, plus physical goodies and feelies, like a hidden psychic investigation kit, Hive Ghost replica, hidden keycard, lore booklet and other trinkets from Savathûn’s Throne World.

Well, not quite finally. Destiny 2‘s Season of the Lost starts today, which offers a prelude as events lead up to The Witch Queen, when it arrives in February.
