Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise Release Date Announced

April 29, 2020

Deadly Premonition 2 Crime Scene

I’m still utterly shocked that we’re receiving a sequel to 2010’s Deadly Premonition; it’s an utter cult classic of a game, deeply revered by its fans and not known many others. You know, the exact sort of game that often gets left by the wayside and is never thought about again. Thankfully, instead of fading into the woodwork, Detective York is back for another adventure in Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise. And he’ll be back sooner than we’d expected.

Announced in September’s Nintendo Direct last year, Deadly Premonition 2 was given a simple release date of 2020, which is a pretty vague time-frame if I’m honest. There are no more vagueries now however, as Nintendo have announced that the game will be available on July 10th, with it also going up for pre-load and preorder today on the Nintendo Switch eshop. So you’ll soon be able to jump into an adventure that serves as both a prequel and sequel to Detective Premonition and will no doubt be filled with some pretty weird moments.

Never played Deadly Premonition? Well, to celebrate the release date announcement, the Nintendo Switch port of the original game (titled Deadly Premonition Origins) is half price on the Nintendo eShop until May 17th. So now is the perfect time to jump in on Switch! If you’ve not got access to a Switch, you can also play Deadly Premonition on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One (via Xbox 360 backwards compatability).

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch on July 10th. Check out the release date announcement trailer below!
