Darksiders 3 Release Date Revealed

July 10, 2018

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have today announced the highly anticipated Darksiders 3 release date, which will launch towards the end of the holiday season of 2018. Gunfire Games is a purpose-built company created by David L Adams, the same person who formed Vigil Games, developer of the original Darksiders games. The new team consists of many of Vigil Games’ former employees, so we can rest assured that Darksiders 3 will play very similarly to its predecessors.

Darksiders 3, which was officially announced in May last year, will run parallel to the original Darksiders 1 and 2 stories, but this time you’ll be Fury, sister of War, the protagonist from the original Darksiders game.

Along with the Darksiders 3 release date news came a big list of all the different editions of the game that will become available to pre-order, including a $400USD edition that comes with several figurines. There will also be a “Blades and Whip” digital edition which will include the remastered versions of the first two Darksiders games. Pre-ordering the standard or Blades and Whip digital editions will give you 10% off the launch price, as well as 24 hours early access.

Also revealed, the remastered Darksiders Warmaster Edition and Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition will both launch 24 hours before Darksiders 3 hits the shelves.

There will be a total of five editions of Darksiders 3, including the aforementioned digital editions above. The two physical collectors editions will include some amazing figurines which are a must have for any Darksiders fan or video game collector.

The apocalypse edition that comes with figurines of the previous game’s characters definitely has Rocket Chainsaw’s eye, but that $400USD price tag has us worried for what kind of price local retailers will be asking and how much stock will be available.

Darksiders 3 will launch on November 27, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. For more information, head to the official Darksiders website.
