Indie developer Studio MDHR has announced via their blog that Cuphead will be delayed until mid-2017.
The developer noted that they had investigated ways of “reducing the scope to make a 2016 release”, but chose to delay the title “in order to ship with [their] vision intact”.
Cuphead was originally announced at E3 2014 during Microsoft’s press conference. At the time it was thought it would be a boss-rush game but earlier this year platforming gameplay was revealed. The game has a notable art style, which can be compared to cartoons of the 1930s.
Cuphead is still expected to release on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam platforms.
