Sony has announced that Concrete Genie will be released on PS4 on 9th October this year.

In Concrete Genie players assume the role of Ash who lives in a mostly abandoned small town called Denska. Ash regularly doodles in his notebook, which is one day stolen by a group of bullies who rip out the pages. Ash goes on a quest to recover the pages, and along the way discovers a magical paint brush which brings the doodles to life and brings colour back to the gloomy town of Denska.

To accompany the release date announcement, Sony has also confirmed that Concrete Genie will have a Photo Mode at launch that features a timelaps-style replay function which allows you to show how you have put your compositions together.

Standard and Deluxe editions of the game will be released at launch. The Deluxe Edition will include a copy of the game, a digital artbook, complete soundtrack, a Pond Design pack to expand your design toolset and an exclusive PS4 Dynamic Theme featuring the Lighthouse location from the game.

If you pre-order the game you will also receive a bonus Avatar set and a special Dynamic Theme featuring a rooftop scene from Denska.
