Blizzcon 2018: Diablo Immortal Announced For Mobile Phones

November 3, 2018

Before Blizzcon 2018 even begun, we knew that something new was coming to the Diablo franchise. Given the top-billing in the schedule, the “Diablo: What’s Next?” panel was always going to introduce something new, although it was always unlike that Diablo 4 would be shown. Instead, we saw the announcement of Diablo Immortal, a brand new mobile MMORPG set in the Diablo universe.

Developed in conjuction between Netease Games and Blizzard, there’s a ton of mobile development experience behind Diablo Immortal. Six perennial Diablo classes are included in the game, with the Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter and Necromancer all available in game. Given how Diablo controls on PC, it was always going to be the easiest of Blizzard’s franchises to translate to mobile and it shows in how the game is controlled, with seemingly easy to use directional controls and attack buttons within easy reach to launch your special abilities.

You can currently pre-register for Diablo Immortal on the iOS and Android stores, however there is not yet a confirmation on when the game will release.
